LOOK KAT I FIGURED OUT SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BRUSH PENS YAY

firstly, they really didn't look cross-eyed before i filled the eyes in. that really pisses me off but can't be helped. also, i realize i sort of dicked out on the sleeves, but i realized a little too late that in my attempt to not fully colour, i had to better think where i marked BEFORE i marked it. putting the colour where i usually put my darks wasn't going to work because it didn't involve my usual process of layering and blending.

additionally, my favourite part is their hair. rufus' didn't look so hot at first, but now i think it didn't turn out that bad. reno's i'm in love with. so much so, i do believe i'll have to do another one in this manner. CHAIR RACING PERHAPS?!

warning - self-righteous banter about fandom ahead:

contrary to popular fandom belief, i doubt rufus was whiny, angsty or otherwise completely emo in childhood. while i do not support BC at ALL and think that it's one giant plot hole, it does rather suit my purposes for maintaining rufus' waivering masculinity. back in the days of the actual ALT RP, i ran our rufus and BC makes most of his original backstory canon. so while making faces at through the phone on the way home from AWA, we started cracking jokes about BC, fandom and all other matters of things. this eventually lead to a long discussion about characterization, first covering the lack thereof in cosplay, the completely unfathomable in cosplay and then eventually degenerating to a discussion on how most of that was likely due to bad fanfic and RP. while on that topic, we compared notes on RP well gone and she started telling me about BC and how that mangles and fixes things all at the same time. after a great deal of discussion on this ended up coming forward and in the end, we decided that her tseng would hate my rufus, my tseng would have a soft spot for her reno, her reno would likely think my rufus was tapable and my everyone would think her elena was a tard. subsequently, her elena would hate almost everyone i had to throw at her.

ALL OF THAT ASIDE, it lead to some funny 'random thought while at work/in class' moments and we would occasionally sit and compare notes. a lot of it was hard for me to honestly draw but after a bit, it fell into a rather nice pattern and i got some really neat shit out of it. nothing was worth posting until now, as most were imbedded in notes for linear algebra and PG2. despite the psychonauts/kh2 kick i've been on lately, i found myself doodling reno looking devious. i decided to make it BC!reno (sans ponytail) and to go with it, since i needed the practice anyway, put a BC!rufus down next to him, conspiring over what else they could POSSIBLY get away with besides chair-racing. i neglected bringing any prismas to class and had the faber-castells handy and VOILA. practice :D

i was rather proud. i didn't mean them to be like SMOOSHED ONTOP OF EACH OTHER but at least they look nice that way :3

i try and avoid the fandom as a whole, except through ALT. ALT is my shield to the fandom, and it's easy to ignore it through ALT since we have no fan-input channels like fanfic and art and shit.

we actually wrote the thing ourselves after it became a running gag. and i quote:

Reno tilted his head to the side as he looked at Rufus. "I doubt anyone would believe that I'm kidnapping you while we're in the tower. Thoroughly corrupting you, yes, but not kidnapping." His gaze shifted to the chair, then back to Rufus. "And while I'm thoroughly corrupting you and bringing you down to my level, I might as well show you the fun of racing around the hallways in your office chair."

Rufus couldn't help but smirk. It was that kind of ingenuity that earned Reno the big bucks. "I could go for some chair-racing. After all, what would they think if my chair were missing along with me? Obviously the VP is too lazy to walk and not kidnapped, right?"

"Exactly." Reno grinned, taking the step back to grab Rufus' chair and wheel it towards him. "And the worst they can do for this is yell at us for having fun. If anyone sees us that matters." He waved a hand at the chair with a flourish, signaling for Rufus to sit down. "Not like they haven't done that before when I'm involved."

"I'm beginning to appreciate your involvement in a great many things..." Rufus added, sitting back carefully in the chair. "Just... don't run over my leg or flip the chair. Or... when I manage to crawl you down, I might have to kill you."

well, honestly, it's not done. we stopped not to long after that part and just discussed it over the phone for the rest. most of it doesn't exist outside of art and conversation after that point.
:iconhappyskunk:
ah yes i know how that is, shame though it would have been fun to read :p
